How clients opt in to texts

Clients of Ringenious Solutions book appointments on its BookMarvels booking page. There are two separate consents, and neither is ever a condition of booking or of any purchase:

  1. Appointment texts (confirmations, reminders, changes): only when the client ticks the first box, or agrees by phone or in person.
  2. Offers by text (about 4 a month): only when the client ticks the second box, texts the keyword and replies YES, or agrees in the shop and replies YES.

Every consent is recorded with the time, the source, the phone number and the exact words shown or sent. Texts come from +1 (302) 467-2997.

1. Booking online: two unticked boxes

After choosing a service and a time, the client enters their name and mobile number. Two boxes appear under the number. Both start unticked, and the booking goes through whether or not either is ticked.

① Appointment texts, the exact words:

Text me appointment confirmations and reminders from Ringenious Solutions. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Privacy: https://bookmarvels.com/sms/privacy Terms: https://bookmarvels.com/sms/terms

② Offers, the exact words:

Text me offers from Ringenious Solutions (about 4 msgs/month). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Leaving the first box unticked means no texts about the appointment (an email confirmation is sent if they gave an email). Leaving the second unticked means no offers.

2. Texting the keyword: double opt-in

A client texts JOIN to +1 (302) 467-2997. They are asked to confirm, and only a YES reply from their own phone signs them up for offers.

A text conversation: the client texts JOIN, Ringenious Solutions asks them to reply YES, they reply YES and get a confirmation

The reply to JOIN:

Ringenious Solutions: Reply YES to receive offers (about 4/month). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

After the client replies YES:

Ringenious Solutions: You're subscribed to offers (about 4/month). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

3. In the shop: staff ask, the client confirms with YES

When a client says in person that they'd like offers, staff open the client's record and click They agreed in the shop: text them to confirm. That sends the client the same YES request; consent is recorded only when the client replies YES.

The client's phone: Ringenious Solutions asks them to reply YES, they reply YES and get a confirmation

The text the client receives:

Ringenious Solutions: Reply YES to receive offers (about 4/month). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Clients who book by phone or in person and agree to appointment texts: staff click They agreed (by phone or in person) on the same record, which is recorded with who recorded it. The first appointment text is a confirmation that ends "Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out."

Stopping and help

Replying STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE) stops all texts at once and sends one confirmation:

Ringenious Solutions: You're unsubscribed and won't get any more texts from us. Reply START to get appointment texts again.

Replying HELP returns Ringenious Solutions's name, its support email and how to stop. Offers are sent only between 9 am and 8 pm in the client's local time, at most 4 a month. Message and data rates may apply.
